About the product
CTDL is an AI-assisted practice platform for the NAATI Certified Translator (CT) exam, English into Chinese. It provides exam-style Task A and Task B texts, grades your work on each rubric dimension with band scores from 1 to 5, and turns your mistakes into review material and weak-point tracking.
No. CTDL is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to NAATI. Its scores are practice estimates and are not official results.
English into Chinese (Simplified), matching the CT test direction the grading is designed for. The interface itself is available in English and Chinese.
Both CT task types: Task A, translating a non-specialised text of about 250 words with a Translation Brief, and Task B, revising a translation that contains seeded errors by marking, categorising and correcting them.
Grading and feedback
Your submission is assessed against the descriptors of each rubric dimension: meaning transfer, textual norms and conventions, and language proficiency for Task A; revision skills and error categorisation for Task B. You receive a band per dimension, pass-line status and an itemised error list with major or minor severity.
They are a consistent practice signal, not an official result. Use band trends over several texts rather than a single score, and challenge any verdict you believe is wrong.
Open a follow-up on the verdict and explain your reasoning. The AI either upholds the original judgment or accepts your point; a score challenge can change a dimension's band, and every change is recorded.
For each text you can open a reference translation with comparison points, step-by-step breakdowns of difficult sentences, and vocabulary cards. Useful patterns and expressions are added to your review library.

CTDL runs in any modern browser. Translating a 250-word text is easiest on a computer or tablet with a keyboard.
Your submissions are stored to grade them and to build your history, review library and weak points. Texts are sent to AI model providers only to produce your grading and feedback. See the Privacy Policy for details.
